What is a Pedorthist?? And why do I need one???
A Pedorthist is a person who has trained in foot anatomy, foot pathologies, gait analysis and can make orthotics. This training requires intensive study and continuing education. A Pedorthist is certified by The American Board for Certification.
A Certified Pedorthist evaluates flexibility, range of motion, areas of pressure, as well as length, width and depth. Based on that information, appropriate footware is then suggested. Certified Pedorthists fill prescriptions made by members of the medical community.
